چکیده

Gravitino production and decay in the inflationary universe are reexamined. Assuming that the gravitino mainly decays into a photon and a photino, we calculate the upperbound on the reheating temperature. Compared to previous works, we have essentially improved the following two points: (i) the helicity ±32 gravitino production cross sections are calculated by using the full relevant terms in the supergravity lagrangian, and (ii) the high energy photon spectrum is obtained by solving the Boltzmann equations numerically. Photodissociation of the light elements (D, T, 3He, 4He) leads to the most stringent upperbound on the reheating temperature, which is given by (106–109)GeV for the gravitino mass 100GeV–1TeV. On the other hand, requiring that the present mass density of photino should be smaller than the critical density, we find that the reheating temperature have to be smaller than (1011–1012)GeV for the photino mass (10–100)GeV, irrespectively of the gravitino mass. The effect of other decay channels is also considered. To appear in Prog. Theor. Phys. Typeset using REVTEX Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. 1

Gravitino Production in the Early Universe and Its Implications to Particle Cosmology

Effects of the unstable gravitino on the big-bang nucleosynthesis (BBN) and its implications to particle cosmology are discussed. If the gravitino mass is smaller than ∼ 20 TeV, lifetime of the gravitino becomes longer than ∼ 1 sec and its decay may spoil the success of the standard BBN. In order to avoid such a problem, upper bound on the reheating temperature after the inflation is obtained, ...

Gravitino production in the warm inflationary scenario

The warm inflation scenario [1] is an unusual variant on the inflationary cosmology, in which the inflaton has significant interactions during the inflationary epoch leading to a continuous production of radiation. The backreaction of this production on the inflaton field appears as a viscosity, slowing down the scalar field evolution and hence aiding slow-roll inflation [2]. In such a scenario...

Supermassive gravitinos, dark matter, leptogenesis and flat direction baryogenesis

In general the gravitino mass and/or the soft supersymmetry breaking masses in the observable sector can be much larger than the TeV scale. Depending on the relation between the masses, new important channels for gravitino production in the early Universe can arise. Gravitinos with a mass above 50 TeV decay before big bang nucleosynthesis, which leads to relaxation of the well known bound on th...

Neutrinos and Big Bang Nucleosynthesis

The role of neutrinos in big bang nucleosynthesis is discussed. The bounds on the number of neutrino families, neutrino degeneracy, parameters of neutrino oscillations are presented. A model of chemically inhomogeneous, while energetically smooth, universe created by inhomogeneous cosmological neutrino asymmetry is described. Nucleosynthesis limits on production of right-handed neutrinos are co...
